Ethiopian - Yegecheffe Single Origin

Some origins speak louder than words…

And if you know who the person in the image below is (though the country name doesn’t do much to disguise it), you’ll already know where we’re sourcing this month’s speciality bean from.

The birthplace of coffee itself — Ethiopia…

A land of ritual, craft, and heritage, where coffee isn’t simply brewed, but honoured.

Here, the act of roasting and pouring is a language — a gesture of time, patience, and connection..

Grown at elevations above 1,800 meters —where mist clings to forested hillsides and ancient coffee trees grow wild—Yirgacheffe is considered one of the world’s most distinctive origins.

Harvested by hand by smallholder farmers in the Yirgacheffe region—many of whom have tended their land for generations.

This coffee carries with it the rhythm of their daily rituals, the wisdom of old soil, and the patience of slow growth.

Each cherry is picked with intention, guided by a quiet understanding of the land that can only come from living in rhythm with it.

The farmers of Yirgacheffe don’t measure time by harvest cycles alone, but by the turning of seasons, the return of rain, and the subtle shift in the scent of the air.

Their process is a dialogue with nature — one that honours balance, precision, and care.

From the careful washing of the beans to their sun-drying on raised beds, every movement speaks of continuity; an unbroken thread between past and present…

And if you took part in our poll not too long ago on our Instagram, with a selection of various clues indicating the region of the next coffee bean.

You might remember one of the clues we shared — “this coffee tastes like flowers in sunlight.”

Now here it is — celebrated for its delicate floral aromas, citrusy brightness, and tea-like clarity.

Soft, radiant, and quietly powerful.

It’s a cup that highlights the gentle side of coffee — clean, balanced, and refreshingly light.

The floral notes give it a natural sweetness, while the citrus edge adds brightness without acidity.

Its clarity makes every sip feel intentional, leaving a calm, steady finish. Brewed with care, it reflects the essence of the craft — thoughtful, refined, and certain in its simplicity.

A gentle reminder that great coffee doesn’t have to be bold to stand out — sometimes, the quiet ones leave the strongest impression.

In the cup, you’ll find..

• Aromas of jasmine and bergamot

• Notes of peach, lemon zest, and black tea

• A clean, crisp finish with a silky mouthfeel

Whether enjoyed as a pour-over to highlight its clarity, a V60 for a more structured cup, or a delicate espresso that reveals its subtle strength — Yirgacheffe rewards those who slow down to truly taste it.

Because here, coffee is more than a drink — it’s a ritual worth pausing for.

We invite you once again to a quiet moment of escape — to simply be, and to remember how beautiful simplicity can be.

Whether it’s your first encounter or a return to a long-time favourite.

We’re sure Yirgacheffe will feel like a familiar conversation — calm, cultured but beautifully grounded.

The perfect autumn – winter pick-me-up — like a quiet comfort for the wind and rain that is yet to come.
